Visiting Hours Is JB Elwood at His Most Vulnerable and Unfiltered

You may recall me previously waxing lyrical about the sounds of Texas-based singer/songwriter JB Elwood. It wasn't long ago that I was hooked on his infectiously pop-driven single Right Here, but this time, JB returns with his most personal and vulnerable offering yet: introducing Visiting Hours.

A cinematic and expertly pieced together tune, Visiting Hours was born in a hospital room last year during one of JB's most painful moments. After being rushed to the ER, the person he expected to be there for him wasn't.

"This song is about realizing someone isn't going to be there for you when it matters," says the musician. "And once you realize that, you also realize you deserve more. Writing Visiting Hours was me taking the power back".

Turning heartbreak into clarity, JB's latest track is another inviting and emotive offering from a hugely talented artist. As I've mentioned before, he just has this ability to manufacture tunes that feel like companions to the highs and lows of life. Visiting Hours is no different - and provides further proof that JB Elwood isn't a radio chaser. No. He's searching for something real, pure, and raw. And that's what we like around these parts!
