Talking to Sophie Finds Solace in Sound with Heartbreaking Single Galaxy

German singer/songwriter Marcel Krell has wasted no time sinking his teeth into 2025. Performing under the moniker Talking to Sophie, Marcel has already delivered five new singles this year, the most recent of which is Galaxy. A mellow and hypnotic sonic offering, it's a tune conjured up from the darkest moment of the artist's life: the loss of his son.

Emotional, poignant, and deeply vulnerable, Galaxy showcases a quieter and more introspective side to the musician's soundscape. The low and whispery vocals match the mood perfectly, and the gentle instrumentation gives his grief all the space it needs to breathe.

"The loss of my son, which has accompanied me for a year now, pushed me into a deep hole," says Marcel. "Galaxy was one of the first steps to processing the death".

Recorded at the artist's studio, an old bakery with a stork's nest on the chimney that Marcel aptly labels Big Birds Nest, Galaxy is one of those songs that almost feels too personal to review.
