Matt Tarka’s Beginnings Rolls in Like a Perfect Weekend Breeze

Easing us into the weekend is an airy and sugary-sweet little number called Beginnings, and it comes courtesy of Pennsylvania-based singer/songwriter Matt Tarka. Penned during a songwriting workshop, Matt's latest single is a folky and upbeat offering that's a real top-tapper from start to finish. Inescapably infectious and filled with warmth and light, it's the kind of tune that rolls in effortlessly and sticks in your mind long after it's over.

Working alongside friend, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Jarrett Nicolay, an artist Matt credits for taking him out of his comfort zone, Beginnings is a showcase of artistic growth. It's also a statement about Tarka's willingness to push sonic boundaries and get creative, something that will undoubtedly serve him well going forward.

If you’ve got the good fortune of being near or in New Jersey, Matt will be performing at the Cape May Singer/Songwriter Weekend next month on the 29th. You can find him at Carney's Other Room, and for more information about the Weekend, simply click here.
