Experience Jacob Reddy’s "Grit Pop" Revolution on His Debut EP These Streets Are Ours

I recently fell in love with a seriously impressive five-track debut EP courtesy of rising indie rock talent Jacob Reddy. Hailing from Blackburn, I'd gotten to know Jacob through tunes like Wear The Crown, Flowers, and, of course, the legendary Ewood Lights. At just twenty years old, Reddy is an artist whose musical maturity far exceeds his years, and this is perfectly reflected in These Streets Are Ours.

Showcasing what Jacob has labelled "grit pop," These Streets Are Ours is a compelling blend of soaring indie rock infused with choruses that simply refuse to fade from your mind. Take the EP's opener Just Another Dayream for example: a colourful and funky offering about striving for a better world, it's the perfect feel-good anthem to begin proceedings.

Crazy follows Just Another Daydream, and it's a song that's unsurprisingly become something of a fan favourite. Ridiculously infectious and forcefully powerful, it's a superb showcase of Jacob's versatility.

Flowers is just an absolute cracker that I basically listen to around ten times a day, before Doing It Wrong storms in and delivers a fast-paced, pop-punk piece of raw sonic attitude.

Streets completes the EP, and it's a tune I shall leave you with to discover for yourself. Don't overlook it though. Trust me.
