ruben dumars Crafts a Lo-Fi Hip-Hop Dreamscape on Hurt Hearts

Hurt Hearts is the kaleidoscopic new single from ruben dumars, an eclectic, Cincinnati-based artist and producer who has masterfully constructed a dense and layered wall of sound. There's so much going on when it comes to Hurt Hearts that it's hard to know where to start, but the dreamy, lo-fi, hip-hop offering is unquestionably one of the most captivating sonic experiences I've heard lately.

Sending listeners into the void via a fountain of melodies and textures, ruben dumars enlisted the help of rapper YnRR SiXX to complete the tune with a raw and expressive lyrical presence.

"I met SiXX a year ago and had just finished the instrumentation for Hurt Hearts," says ruben. "Once I went into the studio with him and saw what he was about, I knew he was perfect for the song".

Marking his first release in collaboration with a rapper, Hurt Hearts showcases another dimension to ruben dumars' expanding musical palette. It's a boundary-pushing piece of music, and it sets the stage for a seriously exciting artistic journey that only seems to be gaining momentum. I can't wait to hear more!
