Indie Cult Favorite David Cloyd Delivers If We Could Escape, a Thrilling Prelude to New Album

Building anticipation for his forthcoming album Red Sky Warning, Buffalo-based indie cult icon David Cloyd has just unleashed the record's second single in the form of If We Could Escape. Inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest, Cloyd goes about assembling a complex and highly immersive indie rock banger that demands your attention. Expertly layered and texturally rich, it's also David's distinctive vocals that steal the spotlight; effortlessly cool and laced with emotional depth.

Reflecting on the meaning behind If We Could Escape, David says, "With each step I take toward fulfilling my dreams, life always seems to trend toward crazy. No matter how uncomfortable and terrifying each choice can get, my life is a thrilling and wild ride, and I wouldn't trade it for anything".

Drawing comparisons to the likes of Thom Yorke, Beck, Nick Drake, and Jeff Buckley, David Cloyd is marking his musical comeback in spectacular style. His last three singles have all rightly received rave reviews, and so now we wait until June 6th, when Red Sky Warning will enter the conversation.

As the album's co-producer Blake Morgan says, "Great artists often light our fires in the darkest times". Well, David has returned, and his flame is burning bright.
