Flavor Wave Tap Into Their Softer Side with The Optimist
Flavor Wave is an alternative rock act consisting of five friends who started playing together in high school. Hailing from Pennsylvania, they settled on the name Flavor Wave back in 2021 and, since then, have delivered a constant stream of dynamic and nostalgia-laced tracks.
Take The Optimist, for instance, the outfit's brand new single. A beautiful soundscape of soft and inviting instrumentation laced with the delicate vocals of Kyle Loedel, it's yet another tune the band can proudly present as a standout moment in their musical journey.
Recorded at Little Brother Audio and produced by Tyler Ripley, The Optimist will form part of a forthcoming album scheduled for later in the year. Described by the act's lead guitarist Matthew Stretch as "our most laidback song on the album" and "a good change of pace," it offers a glimpse into the act's more introspective and melodic side.
Inspired by everyone from The Strokes and Cage The Elephant to Arctic Monkeys and The Black Keys, Flavor Wave concoct a sound rich with heart and authenticity. Truthfully, I've fallen completely in love with this new track, and I can't wait to hear what they offer up next!
