Cris Cap’s Young Gun Captures the Struggles of Youth with Soulful Grace

Düsseldorf-based musician and producer Cris Cap burst onto my musical radar early last year with his soulful and uplifting single Don't You Cry. It was a much needed ray of sonic sunshine, and ever since, I've kept a close eye (and ear) on the artist. True to form, Cris kept coming up with the goods, and he ended 2024 with one of my favourite tunes of the year; the jazzy and lighthearted gem Live Like My Cat.

Today, however, I'd like to introduce you to Young Gun, Cap's brand new single released just a few hours ago. Beautifully encapsulating the tender and universal struggle of navigating love and self-confidence as a teenager, Young Gun blends Cris' signature hopefulness with a thoughtful and reflective tone.

Featuring the silky-smooth vocals of Hudson Hayes, a talented singer from Nashville, Cap's latest offering is another fine example of his ability to turn personal stories into irresistible music. "For me, arranging music is like storytelling," he says. "I love creating complex and interesting layers, but it's important the final sound feels light, groovy, and danceable".

Never failing to surprise and delight, Cris Cap continues to refine his sound while staying true to the soulful and optimistic charm that sets him apart.
