Alone by Disdarken: A Haunting and Unrelenting Glimpse Into Darkness
Gritty, textured, and letting its purity take center stage, Alone is the dark and hard-hitting new single from Netherlands-based act Disdarken. With a runtime of under two and a half minutes, the raw and highly emotional offering feels more like a cathartic outburst than a conventional song. It's untamed and intense in the best possible way - and it's a tune I haven't quite been able to get out of my head since I first heard it.
Reflecting on the track's meaning, band member Alan V. Niculae says Alone is about depression. "I guess we just wanted to express how simple and straightforward a person's depression can actually be," he says. "Once they reach those final stages where they want nothing and no one".
A haunting and potent piece of music, Alone cuts seriously deep. It hits with an honesty that’s as unsettling as it is powerful - and expertly captures that sense of isolation and hopelessness.
Marking Disdarken's third release and forming part of their upcoming album, Keep The Dark Inside, Alone sets the tone for an even darker and more unfiltered chapter ahead. That's cool with us, and we can't wait to hear more!
