Stripped-Back and Unfiltered: Salt Ashes' 10 + 2 Cuts Deep

Salt Ashes is the musical brainchild of London-based sensation Veiga Sanchez, an artist renowned for her pulsating beats and dark, synth-driven soundscapes. She's been labelled "The dame of dark pop" by Wonderland Magazine, and had her music featured on Elton John’s Rocket Hour Show and BBC Introducing.

Her brand new release, however, showcases a completely different sonic side to Sanchez. Stripped-back and exposed, 10 + 2 is her most personal offering yet, and deals with the passing of her father which left a space words couldn't fill.

Laying herself bare with just an acoustic guitar, sweeping strings, and a voice that carries every ounce of grief and tenderness, Salt Ashes turns pain into poetry. Deeply intimate and tender, 10 + 2 perfectly captures that sense of longing and absence…and the almost unreal feeling of searching for healing in the heartache that will never fade.

An utterly haunting and vulnerable piece of music, 10 + 2 is a tune I simply can't get out of my head. Perhaps it's the song's relatability. Or maybe it's the way it reaches deep into your soul and makes you feel every word.
