Stefanos Kozanis' Asterismyth Is a Daring Concept Album for the Adventurous Listener

Yanking me out of my musical comfort zone and into a world of jazzy, classical, and traditional Greek sounds is Asterismyth, the stunning new concept album courtesy of Athens-based pianist and composer Stefanos Kozanis.

A twelve-track offering inspired by Greek mythology and the constellations, Asterismyth blends complex melodies with atmospheric soundscapes. It's a captivating musical odyssey that immerses the listener in a starry-eyed sonic adventure and, while perhaps not for everyone, is a record full of rewards for those craving musical exploration.

The album features a talented ensemble of fellow Athens-based musicians, including Katerina Konstantinou on vocals, recitation and lyrics, Dimitris Margaritis on violin and poetry, Kostas Patsiotis on double bass, and Nikos Sidirokastritis on drums.

Released in November last year and supported by Jazz Breeze Records, Asterismyth is a daring invitation to experience music in its most expansive and imaginative form. It's a stellar album, and I can't wait to hear from Stefanos Kozanis again!
