Elixir of Life: A Visceral and Vivid Dive into Hana Piranha’s Dark Imagination

I've been a keen follower of Brighton-based outfit Hana Piranha for some time now. Tunes like Lorelei and the act's raw and powerful version of Britney Spears' Toxic left a lasting impression on me.

Their sound is bold and uncompromising, perhaps most obviously noted on track seven of the band's 2023 album Wingspan. Entitled Elixir of Life, the face-melting tribute to Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray is a hard-hitting and potent composition - and now, with a visually stunning new music video to match, it’s even more intoxicating.

Beautiful yet terrifying…artful yet twisted…Elixir of Life's music video cranks up the horror vibes. Featuring a possessed ballet performance and the morphing of band members into nightmare fuel, it's signature Hana Piranha at their very best.

Led by the daughter of a Catholic priest who moved to England at the age of twelve to pursue her dream of becoming a concert pianist, Hana Piranha serves as a vehicle for pushing artistic boundaries. It's been an eventful sonic journey so far, and I can't wait to hear what the gifted outfit get up to next!
