Camera Is a Psychedelic Snapshot From the Mind of Ethan Gold

Camera is quickly becoming one of my favourite new tunes of the year, and that's not a statement I make lightly. Courtesy of Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Ethan Gold, the psychedelic and rocky piece of music gives off serious Pink Floyd/Syd Barrett vibes, and it's scratching a sonic itch that my ears have truly been missing. Gritty, immersive, thrilling, immense!

A dark and moody offering, Camera will form part of Ethan's Earth City, a trilogy of albums dealing with modern life, the longing for human connection, and how we connect with nature.

As the son of Herbert Gold (prolific Beat-adjacent novelist) and Melissa Dilworth, Ethan's artistic path also seemed predetermined. His mother tragically passed away in a helicopter crash, ingraining in him a trauma from a unique childhood that shines through in a lot of the musician's work.

It's not often I'm at a loss for words, but Camera has caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting such a powerful track to just land in my lap when I pressed play. But here I sit, in awe of the genius of Ethan Gold and his latest masterpiece.
